                         Ali Cotterill
Ali Cotterill was raised deep in the suburbs of New Jersey, which is to say, up the street from three different malls. She got her B.A. in English and Gender Studies from Oberlin College, creating her first short film in her senior year. She moved to Portland, OR and founded DK PDX, the Portland drag king troupe (2003-2006). DK PDX toured throughout the US and Canada, with Ali creating all the multimedia along the way.

In 2005, she enrolled in the Art Institute of Portland's Digital Film and Video program, where she made a ton of music videos and some short documentaries. Her thesis film, Losing 1983, won the Art Institute's Outstanding Achievement in Film and Video for 2007. Losing 1983 is touring the world as a Next Frame finalist for the 2008-2009 season and starting its loop around the festival circuit.

Her films have screened internationally at festivals, as well as on Logo TV and Current TV. Ali freelances in the film and TV industries for work, most often as an editor. She is relocating to Brooklyn, NY this summer.
